Man wanted in drug raid caught in police chase
Brockway is suspected of manufacturing methBy JOHN MOLSEED, Messenger staff writer

As a team of investigators executed a search warrant at a home in Webster County, a man wanted in the same case led police on a short chase in Fort Dodge.
Matthew E. Brockway, 28, 1406 S. 25th St., was arrested on multiple charges after the chase came to an end when he struck a tree at the 1400 block between First Avenue North and Central Avenue.
The chase began just after a joint task force of Webster County Sheriff’s Deputies and Fort Dodge Police officers entered a home at 1782 Becker Drive, Apt. 7, in Webster County.
Brockway was named in the search warrant as part of an investigation into suspected methamphetamine manufacturing.
Investigators said the timing of the two separate incidents worked out well.
“By the time we were coming out (of the apartment) they were chasing him,” said Deputy Luke Fleener.
According to Iowa Department of Correctional Services, Brockway is currently on parole. He was charged with eluding, two counts of violating one-way traffic, and four counts of failing to obey a traffic control device. Other charges are pending, officials said.
Investigators found what they believe to be meth and marijuana in the vehicle along with a 9 mm handgun, a .25-caliber pistol and two .22-caliber handguns. Court records show Brockway has had prior felony convictions, including possession of a controlled substance.
A passenger in the vehicle Brockway was driving, Danielle Fogelman, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to search warrants, investigators believe Brockway is involved with Mark McGuire, 41, in manufacturing meth. McGuire told investigators that he acquired meth precursors to make meth for Brockway. He said that Brockway had an envelope with about 200 small bags of ‘‘crystal’’ at the apartment police searched Friday.
McGuire was arrested Wednesday evening while allegedly driving a stolen truck. He also allegedly had meth and meth precursors including lithium batteries, pseudoephedrine and coffee filters on him at the time of his arrest. McGuire said Brockway had coerced him into making the drug, warrants say.
An anonymous tip to Webster County Crime Stoppers also led investigators to believe that those involved were going to begin the final phase of making the drug at the Becker Drive apartment.
Brockway appeared in Webster County Magistrate Court on the charges Friday morning. He was ordered held on $2,800 bond. The Fort Dodge Public Defender’s office was appointed to represent him. A preliminary hearing on the case is set for Nov. 21.

I dont know why they even let these kind of people back out on the street. If they would have a few harsher lessons for these people we might get some of the drug stuff cleaned up.
