C. WILLIAM KEMNA

ROLFE — C. William “Bill” Kemna, age 70, of Rolfe, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at the Humboldt Care Center South in Humboldt, Iowa.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Rolfe, with Fr. Merle Kollasch officiating. Burial is in St. Margaret’s Cemetery near Rolfe. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at the St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Rolfe. There will be a Parish Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Friday, at the church in Rolfe.

Powers Funeral Home in Rolfe is handling arrangements.

Cyril William Kemna was born Nov. 12, 1937, in Algona, Iowa. He was the son of William L. and Leona (Haag) Kemna. He was raised and educated in the Rolfe area, graduating from Rolfe High School in 1955. He served in the Iowa Air National Guard. On Feb. 12, 1966, Bill married Peggy Link at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Rolfe. To this union three children were born, Wm. R., Karen and Jim. Bill and Peggy settled near Rolfe where they farmed and raised their family.

Bill was a member of the St. Margaret’s Catholic Church. He served on the Farm Credit Advisory Board and on the Pocahontas County Mutual Insurance Board. Bill enjoyed his family, grandchildren, farming, hunting and riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy of Rolfe; children, Wm. R. (Cindy) Kemna of Rolfe, Karen (Dave) Klabunde of Blue Earth, Minn., and Jim Kemna of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Ryanne, Taylor and Matthew Klabunde; a brother, Tim (Bette Jo) Kemna of Rolfe, and a sister, Delrae Wood of Algona.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Wm. L. and Leona Kemna.
