In global markets, Taxed..., we no longer have the ability for the govt, unions, or employers - by law, regulation, contract or poor management - to distort costs of domestic production that raise our costs of production above those of external competitors be these American or foreign owned. The cost of energy in all its forms is a key component of costs of production and must be reflected in the price of the item or service produced. It's time to wake up and smell the roses - Sowell's "Basic Economics" or Hazlitt's "Economics in One Lesson" (free online at "fee dot com") would be a good place for John Q Public to begin, whether Democrat or Republican.

Anderson, they didn't raise their electric rate for over 15 years. How many other companies that you know that have done that. They do get tax breaks for wind generation because without it there would be no money to be made and they would not be built. They can produce energy a lot cheaper with coal and natural gas. If you want clean wind energy you have to be willing to pay for it.

would that there were enough of them to compensate for - and and tall enough to hide - all those lovely windmills they are building with taxpayer subsidies of about 3 cents per kilowatt hour produced!
