As one Puppet-in-Chief admitted, "America is addicted to (fossil fuels.)" He might have said, "Oil." Not sure, don't care.

What I AM sure about is that we cannot go on like this, and we don't seem to have the will to be inconvenienced to change our behavior. Let the addict crash or "hit bottom," I suppose. Then we will HAVE to re-direct some resources to new design and conversion technologies... rather than continuing to feed the entrenched beast that is, ultimately, going to consume us.

Not only that, Need6..., but you not only face the same problem when the sun doesn't shine, but solar panels are least effective when the day's two peak periods of electricity usage occur, i.e. early morning and late afternoon while the sun is low in the east and the west. Absent subsidies, very few wind generators.

Huge waste of money. The wind doesn't blow on peak periods which means fossil fuel fired plants have to be built as well to back up the wind. Money would be better spent on energy efficiency and solar.
