When the information system underlying the health system has evolved to the point where a patient’s medical information is available, current and complete in its representation, regardless of where and when a patient receives service, then the name change starts to make sense. This not only begins to eliminate redundancy in service and cost but more importantly can improve the quality of service received. As important, and more challenging perhaps, the internal culture of the health system needs to embrace this concept in a positive fashion.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet... Sounds like some big wheel administrator and a lot of little wheels blow him had to have something to do - always a dangerous and costly situation.

Pretty sure that is not why they are changing the name. This has been something they have been doing for awhile if you would read. If you don't like the service drive elsewhere and hope you don't run into an "emergency" where Fort Dodge might have to save you or a family member and you will have to eat those words. Remember, just because one doctor did something you didn't like it doesn't speak for the rest of them. ALSO, pretty sure they are human and do get wiggle room for human error like you. just food for thought.

Changing the name won't change the service received.
