I would love to see what the Obamas have for lunch. I don't think its celery and carrot sticks.

I am okay with healthier lunches, however she mentioned above how kids will take the food and then throw it away. Well at the high school they have to take the foods they are supposed to (like it or not) or they will be charged a la carte prices instead, which costs quite a bit more. So it is either take the food you don't like and pay the regular cost (throw what you don't want) or take what you know you will eat and pay more. It makes no sense.

Jammer, this is what we can always expect from over-educated, over-paid bureaucrats justifying their jobs by making regulations for the rest of us who, obviously, do not know what is good for us. Can't imagine how I managed to make 6"2" and a lean 172 pounds on the sack lunch of 1 1/2 meat or dill pickle & peanut butter sandwiches, one piece of fruit and another of pastry that my mother packed for MY school lunch, all washed down with water. Needless to say, we kids then had no obesity problems, nor did our mother with her 5 AM to 11 PM daily schedule. So good to know your grand daughters understand that it is the Obama's that are responsible for their health, jammer, just as will all those to whom that army of federal "advisers" HHS is hiring EXPLAINS Obamacare to potential recipients and, incidental thereto, also register to vote - as Democrats, no doubt. It's all part of our Community Agitator's extension of Chicago politics onto the national level.

I'm all for healthier food for the children. Just this weekend my granddaughter was telling me that they no longer get pickles with their hamburgers. But...they were served small cream filled cupcakes. Now where is the since in that? So now I read in this article that condiments have been discontinued. How is taking away the pickles helping them be more food conscience? Hey, I've had their burgers, pickles just makes it go down easier. My 3rd grade granddaughter says that this is Mrs. Obama's plan for healthier lunches. I'm glad she understands that, however she totally don't understand why she cannot have pickles but can have a cupcake. I don't understand it either, maybe someone can explain it to me?
