Good for you, JacqueD. That shows that you cared for your customers and for that I applaud you.

Seriously how can you blame the managers and employees. So many businesses do this to their people...leaving them unemployed and lost on what they should do. They could have just walked away and I for one appreciate the dedication of returning and at least getting the products out to their customers - when they know they won't get paid for their time. And as for supporting our local photographers...we do that through sport team pictures, dance pictures, and personal pictures. However the cost is far greater when you use a private business. I believe that Sears and Walmart owe these people a little more than what they got.

I'm Emily Jensen, the now former studio manager of the Sears Portrait Studio. I just wanted to echo what Jacque said. We had ZERO notice of the closing, we found out with everyone else. We were totally blindsided. There was no contingency plan. There was nothing we could do. Everything we were able to do in our studios, was done off the clock and out of personal responsibility and professional integrity. The managers and staff did their very best to get everyone's purchased products out to them, even when we are dealing with our own personal crisis of sudden unemployment. These two studios have served the community for decades and have helped create beautiful and lasting memories at an affordable price. I for one am saddened at the lose for this community when so many can not afford the prices of a private studio.

Here's an idea, let's support our local photographers, good riddance to thoughtless corporations extracting our money and spending it elsewhere.

I'll bet we have a bunch of you "Messenger Comment Trolls" in our archives wearing your Sunday Best.

I'll have to dig through them.

I'll bet half of you are wearing the same clothes as you read this...

CPI. they handled the closing and situation extremely wrong. But it does NOT lie with the individual studios and employees. Personally I believe I did more than asked and I truly hope people are able to get all of their portraits and products. :)

I am the manager of the walmart studio and we definitely didnt "throw anyone under the bus" at least not the studio personally. I was informed at 11 pm last night of the closing and when I went this morning I was not even able to clock in. We were instructed not to even go to work but I was still there getting peoples orders labeled clearly for Walmart calling the customers I could (cant access phone numbers without clocking in) getting orders out etc. I spoke to Lionel the walmart manager and showed him where everything was. I even personally delivered some of the orders to peoples houses. I wrote that note to give people at least a heads up because I take pride in my work and it doesnt sit right with me to just let everyone get screwed over and just let them deal with it. I did everything within my power to help this transition and if Lionel didnt communicate to the rest of HIS team that is not my fault. And really not his either the blame here lies with the compan

Way to throw the stores' Customer Service departments under the bus. They didn't say anything to anybody, then just shut down without saying a word to the Wal-mart Customer Service desk. They were even nice enough to leave a note that said to contact the customer service desk for their pictures, and then didn't give the stores any way to get to the pictures.
