Technology is a curse in many circumstances. I can remember calling and speaking with a friend on the phone; now kids just text. As for handwriting, ask a student to write a letter then check the grammar. Or just listen to things people say; borrow me a dollar, where you is, why you be doing that. Our use of the English language is being butchered.

Two disagreements already but nobody has the nerve to tell me what about my statement they disagree with. If you disagree with me, have the courage to voice your disagreement.

Just another example of dumbing Down our society. Ever see the movie "Idiocrocy"? It's worth a look. I just can't imagine a future with ppl who can't write.

"Illiteracy" - by any other name...

Why not sign with an "X" and teach calligraphy, instead of cursive; see 3 White house calligraphers make from $60,00 to $100,000/year now even though someone did manage to duplicate their work for a pittance with a computer. Ah, how costly the Imperial Presidency! And who do those Waverly kids think they are; can't the see were broke?

Another thing that chaps my butt. Acronyms. I worked for the post office for 7 years and every memo or letter sent to you was filled with acronyms. Drove me crazy. They had a separate book translating the acronyms. Talk about a waste of time. Now when texting or chatting in a chat room, you better know your acronyms. No one writes in full sentences anymore. Talk about ******** our language.
