I was sure someone would have already started the jokes about the article by this point-lol! I can just see the marketing of downtown Fort Dodge: "A putt-putt surrounded by a lot of parking!"

I really think it was,& is a waste of $ to fix up down town Fort Dodge, as in central Ave, because there's not a whole lot of people, places, or things on central Ave.since there's nothing there as in businesses to draw people in, novody really sees it unless they drive that direction to go back out of town to go home, or drive on that strees when they come into Fort Dodge(if it's people from out of town.I really wonder what ever happened to the city's idea of tearing down the old fareway,& turning that land there into a city park? I swear i saw an article in the messenger news once that said that's what the city planned to do,& was the reason fareway moved/built a new store in a new location.
