Also, bubu, President Kennedy (and I) would not agree with you on Vietnam (or Korea, I might add); to quote JFK: "If you lost Vietnam, I think everybody was quite clear that the rest of Southeast Asia would fall...It would have profound effects on our position throughout the world...It would affect what happened in India...Indonesia...All those countries would be affected by the fall of Vietnam." This was, of course, when communism was on the ascendency and before the USSR/China split, and when JFK rejected your view now - and DeGaulle's then - noting "It doesn't do us any good to say, 'Well, why don't we all just go home and leave the world to those who are our enemies.'" As JFK said, "Aggressive conduct, if allowed to grow unchecked and unchallenged, ultimately leads to war." Would that Obama and today's Democrats were just as wise as were JFK (and Truman before him).
