Mickelson wins Webster County Sheriff race
Incumbent Brian Mickelson has won another term as Webster County Sheriff.
Mickelson, a Republican from Vincent, received 10,446 votes.
He defeated Democratic challenger Curt Ruby, of Badger, who received 7,513 votes.
One-cent local option sales tax passes in Fort Dodge
The 1-cent local option sales tax was approved by Fort Dodge voters by a margin of 63.16 percent to 36.84 percent.
A simple majority of 50 percent plus one was required for passage.
Phil Condon wins in Webster County District 5
Incumbent Phil Condon will retain his seat in Webster County Supervisor District 5.
Condon, of rural Clare, received 1,967 votes, roughly 76 percent.
Miller wins re-election to House District 49
State Rep. Helen Miller, D-Fort Dodge, won her fourth term Tuesday.
She defeated Republican Mike Littzen, of Fort Dodge, by a margin of 59.62 percent to 40.38 percent.
Tjepkes wins re-election
State Rep. David Tjepkes, R-Gowrie, won his fourth term with a blowout victory over Democrat Lynne Gentry, of Rockwell City Tuesday. He defeated her by a nearly 2-to-1 margin over three counties.
