Upset with city
To the editor:
I would like to thank the city of Fort Dodge for recent road improvements made to Hawkeye Avenue this last week, and Fort Dodge Asphalt for being kind and letting us know that they’d be turning off our water well enough in advance so that we were able to prepare for it.
However, I would like to send out a big frown to the city for trapping me in my alley this morning through the afternoon. See, my alleyway is my only exit, and with the Hawkeye Avenue entrance blocked off, the road work today on the other end left me trapped in my home. I run a child care service in my home. Parents were inconvenienced. They had no access to their children.
What if there were an emergency? I take care of toddlers. I would have appreciated some notice that I’d be trapped in my home today so that I might have prepared. Big frown Fort Dodge. Thank goodness the clerk was courteous at least.
