Tritons host William Penn JV
In what was originally scheduled as a game away from Dodger Stadium, the 12th-ranked Iowa Central football team has another home game on its schedule here today. The Tritons (4-1 overall) were supposed to travel to Oskoolsa to face the William Penn junior varsity squad on Sunday, but the field was deemed unplayable and the contest was moved to Fort Dodge. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. inside Dodger Stadium. The Tritons are coming off their only loss of the season, falling to DuPage last week. The Chaparrals earned a 41-29 upset triumph in Fort Dodge. ‘‘Our goal is to get better every week,’’ said Iowa Central head coach Kevin Twait. ‘‘We didn’t do that (last Saturday), and now, we have some work to do.’’ The Tritons had another strong effort on the ground against DuPage. David Ferris carried the charge with 155 yards and three touchdowns. Iowa Central will have a chance to release last week’s frustrations against the Statesmen.
