Clare teen competes in modeling, talent
CLARE — Kristin Lawler, of Clare, spent a week in late July at competition and auditions for the International Modeling and Talent Agency in New York. She had auditioned for Barbizon Royal last November and was one of 34 chosen to compete. In preparation, she attended classes in Des Moines for one weekend a month for six months. While in New York, she was one of 3,200 people from 19 countries competing and auditioning in front of agents and judges from around the world. She competed in TV beauty, fashion runway, fashion print, commercial print, jeans runway, entertainment host, swimwear competition, cold read, “I’m ready for my close up” and dance. She earned first place overall for team dance, third runnerup in the TV beauty commercial and honorable mention for solo dance. She received five callbacks for private auditions. Lawler, a 2008 graduate of Manson Northwest Webster, is the daughter of Denny and LeAnn Lawler, of Clare.
