Making a ‘Curtain Call’
Members of the Iowa Cental Dance Team perform a precision drill routine during a recent rehearsal.
Limber limbs will flow across the stage when the Iowa Central Dance Team presents “Curtain Call” at 7:30 p.m. March 27 and 28 at the Decker Auditorium on the Iowa Central Community College campus in Fort Dodge.
Admission is $5 for adults or $2 with an Iowa Central student ID. Proceeds from the program will be used to pay for travel expenses to attend the American Superstars Nationals cheer and dance competition April 4-6 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
“We’re hoping to make this an annual event,” said Lesa Dencklau, director of dance at Iowa Central, “even if we’re not going to nationals. Eventually, we’d like to make it a collaborative effort with the other fine arts.”
This inaugural program will highlight the various dance routines the team has performed throughout the year at competitions, as well as during halftime of college athletic events.
