Clothing store, offices add to shopping aura

By JESSE HELLING, Messenger staff writer

New 2007 Crossroads Mall tenants have brought another shopping option to Fort Dodge on one hand, and greater accessibility to a popular community service on the other.

The addition of Glik’s benefited avid shoppers who, before its arrival, might have traveled hours to purchase favorite clothing brands. Glik’s is a retail clothing company based in Granite City, Ill.

The Crossroads Mall store is the first Glik’s in Iowa, said company president and chief executive officer Jeff Glik.

‘‘We’d like to have at least eight or nine stores in Iowa as a long-range goal,’’ he said. ‘‘We want to deliver to the smaller communities larger national brands.’’

Glik’s occupies approximately 2,700 square feet of space whose former tenant was Foot Locker, which closed in January 2007. It caters to both men and women.
