Object to government actions

To the editor:

For the last few months we have lerned that our government has been forcibly taking children from their parents and depositing them among other places in an old Wal-Mart store with no windows – cages, kennels and cells. Any person of conscience knows that is wrong – shameful. The fear and pain almost takes us beyond our power of expression. To say this is the law is not a credible reason. We know the law is often the shelter of injustice.

We have also seen duing this time, athletes criticized for respectfully bowing down on one knee during the playing of the National Anthem calling attention to the injustices they see and feel for those less fortunate.

The question now for us is not should the athletes kneel during the National Anthem but why are we not joining them?
