Worried about US debt

To the editor:

I’m upset with Fort Dodge. Our country has to raise the debt ceiling to keep going and yet they keep giving money to what some call the pork barrel — like a bridge to nowhere. They say our grandchildren will still be working on the debt we keep making. The government can’t stop spending. So, it’s up to us to stop asking for something they do not have to give without borrowing it.

By going to Washington to get another grant that they have to borrow will help raise the debt ceiling again. I guess as long as they get the money, how they get it doesn’t matter to them. A trail to somewhere is more important than keeping our government from raising the debt ceiling, after all isn’t that what a pork barrel is for?
