They appreciate the support

To the editor:

2017 has been a very memorial transformation of our name. Youth Empowerment Association, Inc. formerly known as It Gets Better FD and Beyond would like to thank our supporters from the previous year.

We have a new name, but our mission remains the same as it always had for the past decade. To continue to provide and promote positive environments for the youth of our communities. We strive to help kids identify the reliable adults in their lives who will encourage them to have healthy relationships with friends and family members as well as becoming productive adults for the future.

The events we hold annually are always family friendly with every penny raised goes straight back to the awareness and cause to empower the youth. There is no over head costs.

From our “Run To Honor” 5K run / walk to help and honor our local Vietnam veterans, fishing tournament at Kennedy park to bring families to put their phones away and spend a day fishing, exploring nature and making memories. Our biggest event of the year is in April. The Annual Kids Choice Awards is an awards banquet night is a night to become inspired by kid chosen mentors walking the red carpet at Fort Frenzy. Most recently, ambassador Maddie Davis has designed a new division called Maddie’s YEA Babies. A program designed to help struggling families, single moms and teens.

Our Dr. Ed Miller Memorial Character Scholarship is made up of youth peers helping one another.

We would like to thank the following establishments for their gracious support in 2017: Fort Frenzy, Iowa Central Diversity Committee, Family Bowling center, Iowa Outdoors Store, Webster County Conservation, Trophies Unlimited, Rides Bar and Grill, Al & Jan Link, Steve and Rachel Roosenboom, Kemna Auto, Gowrie Public Library, Daryl Beall, Helen Miller, Mary Gormally, Pat Buckley, Barb Fontenot, Manson Northwest Webster Art Dept. and students, Crossroads Mall, South East Valley Art Dept. and students, Judge Brown, Linda Byrne, Brown’s Shoe Fit, Bob Amspoker Construction, Pizza Ranch, Fort Dodge Country Club, Taco Johns, Papa Murphy’s, Jenny Wolfe of Mccolley Chiropractic, Brooke Bickford of Tea Thyme, Fort 8 Theater, Pancheros, Taco Tico, Ja-Mars, Pizza Hut, Cori at Tropical Smoothie, Terry Mohnke Dominoes, Laritas, Culvers, Kristi Mcloud, Blue Ribbon Pelham Waters of FD., Pepsi, Unity Point Clinic and the Messenger for all the lovely articles supporting our youth and their efforts.
