Appreciates the support
To the editor:
On behalf of SOS (Serving Our Servants), I wish to thank our community for all the support we received on Frida and Saturday, May 5 and 6. Indeed, thank you all.
About four years ago, a handful of men and a matching grant began a mission or sharing our thanks and appreciation for local first responders. As chaplain to various agencies, I knew many citizens cared as I did for these men and women who serve us 24/7 in our times of need. Today SOS has about 70 members and serves our law enforcement officers (city, county and state), our fire and rescue team and our ER staff at the hospital.
The great folks at Shimkat celebrated their 70th anniversary and selected SOS as the beneficiary of proceeds from the Raminator truck ride. Wow! The Mid-Iowa Towing joined in with matching funds. Wow! Neighbors such as Fort Frenzy and Hy-Vee helped make it a success. Wow!
Thank you very much for your support. We will pass this on to encourage those men and women who serve and protect us with their courage and skill.
