Pay it forward

To the editor:

I went to ALDI USA and really stocked up on staples. The bill was over $100 so you know I bought quite a bit (Aldi is cheap). When I went to use my debit card it wouldn’t work. I went into panic mode because I knew it should work and thought maybe the card got hacked or something. I said I would be right back and ran across the street to the bank.

The bank assured me the card was fine, gave me cash. I went back to get my groceries and someone had paid for them. I was stunned. Since I already had the cash in hand, I gave it to the checker and said to take the next people’s groceries out of it. The first couple didn’t know it happened. The next couple thanked me (I was still bagging my groceries.) The next lady was stunned because she bought milk and it was all the money she had left. She left hollering “thank you” and “people are good.” The next lady said she would buy breakfast for someone tomorrow. I don’t know how much farther the money went but it made me and a lot of others happy. So thank you whoever bought my groceries.
