Iowa Central honors its alumni

2018 Hall of Fame inductees honored at ceremony

Many alumni of Iowa Central Community College made admirable contributions to the college community during their student days and have distinguished careers in the years that follow. The college honors some of these alumni each fall by inducting them into the Triton Hall of Fame. That annual event took place Oct. 13.

Genevieve and the late Leo Crimmins were honored with the Humanitarian Award for their support and dedication to Iowa Central and the greater Fort Dodge community.

The additional 2018 Hall of Fame honorees include two Distinguished Alumni Award winners and five Triton Athletic Award winners.

Those chosen for the Distinguished Alumni Award are:

• Mark Mittelstadt, class of 1973, recognized for his outstanding achievements and lifetime career with The Associated Press and

• William Thatcher, who attended in 1966-67, who has spent more than 35 years practicing law, including more than 25 years as a magistrate judge in Fort Dodge, and volunteering for numerous local organizations.

The Triton Athletic Award winners are:

• Denny Myers, who coaches track,

• Dave Morgan, for prowess as a wrestler,

• Brett Graybill, for football achievements,

• Tim O’Connell a rodeo rider and

• The 1972 Iowa Central football team as this year’s team inductee.

The Messenger congratulates the honorees on their selection and joins Iowa Central in applauding their varied achievements and contributions.
