Market on Central to resume Thursday

Summer 2018 will be the best one yet for this popular event

Downtown Fort Dodge is on the rebound. During the last several years, storefronts up and down Central Avenue and on nearby streets that have too long been vacant are once again coming to life commercially. The city’s historic business district is becoming the home to an impressive array of new businesses. Many of these enterprises are exactly the type of family-owned and operated ventures that have long been a driving force in our nation’s economy.

The success of Market on Central, which resumes Thursday, is a superb example of the renaissance in downtown Fort Dodge.

In 2011, this splendid event was launched. Each summer since it has gotten better. This year is shaping up to be the best Market on Central season yet.

Market on Central returns to downtown Fort Dodge on Thursday. It will be held on Central Avenue from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. between Seventh Street and Ninth Street.

Don’t miss the opportunity to purchase locally grown produce and sample a wide variety of baked goods, wine and other unique Iowa products. At Market on Central attendees will also find artwork, crafts, jewelry and entertainment. This family-friendly gathering also features an enticing variety of food vendors.

Don’t fail to put on your calendar the upcoming dates for Market on Central — June 14, June 28, July 12, July 26, Aug. 9 and Aug. 23.
