Academic success warrants praise

Fort Dodge Noon Rotary Club honors exceptional local achievers

The Fort Dodge Noon Rotary Club has been a part of this community for a century. Its many worthy activities and community-improvement projects contribute grandly to making this town a place anyone would be proud to call home.

Helping young people succeed and taking the time to acknowledge and honor their achievements are priorities for local Rotarians. That’s why for more than four decades Fort Dodge Noon Rotary has held an Academic Achievement Banquet. This event honors seniors at both Fort Dodge Senior High and St. Edmond Catholic High School for their scholarly prowess.

To be selected for this recognition, students must rank in the top 10 percent of their graduating class. This year’s banquet, to be held at the Best Western Starlite Village Inn & Suites Wednesday evening, will honor 29 academic achievers from FDSH and St. Edmond. Dr. Terry Moehnke will deliver the keynote address.

Tribute is also due the students’ parents. The successes their offspring have achieved are thanks in substantial measure to unfailing parental support. Likewise, it’s almost impossible to overstate the significance of the role dedicated teachers and school administrators play in creating a learning environment that facilitates academic accomplishments.

The Messenger joins the Fort Dodge Noon Rotary Club in applauding these students for their scholastic achievements, hard work, dedication and commitment to academic excellence. Local Rotarians also deserve thanks for their longtime dedication to honoring young people in our community who aim high and achieve their dreams.
