DAYTON — Betty J. Jebron Peterson, 87, of Dayton, passed away Mon­day, June 18, 2018.

A Cele­bra­tion of Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Sat­urday, June 23, 2018, at Carson – Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. Rev. Rod Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Dayton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Daughter of John and Lucille Maddox, Betty was born April 29, 1931, where she was raised in Fort Dodge. She married Cornelius Jebron November 23, 1947, where they farmed and raised four children, in Dayton. They later moved to Duncombe and opened and ran Corny’s Corner, fast food and gas station. She moved back to Dayton and worked as a home health aide for many years before retiring.

She was a member of the Dayton United Methodist Church and served as lay minister. She also served as Grand Matron in Eastern Star Chapter, now in Boone.

Betty is survived by her children, Cyndi Jones, Susan Berryhill, Marilou (Walt) Taylor, Cornelius “Corky” (Kay) Jebron Jr., five grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Her greatest joy was her family; she especially enjoyed being referred to as GGG by her great-great grandchildren.
