Naomi L. Wallen, 93, of Fort Dodge, died May 14th at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday May 18 at Tompkins Cele­bra­tion Center, Friendship Haven with one hour of visitation prior. Rev. Jennifer Owen will officiate. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Naomi Louise Rodgers, the daughter of Bert and Hafford (Crossett) Rodgers, was born January 28, 1925, in Morressen, Pennsylvania. The family moved to Iowa and following graduation from Boxholm High School, Naomi lived in Burnside. She married John Arthur Wallen on May 29, 1966 and worked with Avco New Idea in Fort Dodge, retiring in 1981. After Art’s death, Naomi moved to Friendship Haven. She was a member of First Baptist Church and secretary of the Church Council. Naomi enjoyed traveling, camping, and in her later years participating in Friendship Haven meetings and church activities.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Tom (Pat) Salvatore and Tony (Cyndie) Salvatore both of Fort Dodge, Linda Phillips of Sioux City, Sandy Cobb Benson of Las Vegas, NV, Terry Cobb and many great nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Art, sisters Evelyn Salvatore and Hazel Cobb and her parents.

Naomi’s family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home for their excellent care, concern and support during this difficult time as well as Naomi’s friends and staff at Friendship Haven for being her extended family.
