EAGLE GROVE — Daniel Ray Niederhauser, 55, of Spring Valley, IL and formerly of Storm Lake, IA, died at 6:52 pm on Friday, April 13, 2018 at his home.
A memorial visitation for Dan will be held on Wednesday, April 18, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Barto Funeral Home in Spring Valley with a celebration of life service, held by his friends, beginning at 7:00 pm. Additionally, a memorial funeral Mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove, IA on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with a one hour visitation prior to Mass. Private burial will be at a later date.
Dan was born in Waterloo, Iowa on November 11, 1962 to Gerald and Denice (Kueter) Niederhauser. He married Cari Carlson on September 14, 1985 in Storm Lake, Iowa. He was a graduate of Eagle Grove High School and Iowa Central Community College.
Dan worked in the cable television business for many years, and was most recently employed with Springfield Electric in Peru, IL until his illness would no longer allow him. He had a special way with people and was a friend to anyone he met. Dan had a great love for music and liked to play guitar as a hobby. He and his wife shared many adventures together, along with good friends and family, going to concerts, boating, fishing, and lots of travel. He especially loved spending time with his daughters, Abby and April, who will miss him dearly.
Dan is survived by his wife, Cari, of Spring Valley; his daughters, Abby Niederhauser of North Hollywood, CA and April Niederhauser of Spring Valley; his father Gerald of Eagle Grove, IA; and his 3 brothers, Jim (Terri) of Des Moines, IA, Tom (Melissa) of Eagle Grove, IA, and Gary of Ankeny, IA.
Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Denice.
