LARRY LEMPKE

CLEAR LAKE — Larry Lempke, 75, formerly of Vincent, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City, IA. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Larry was born in Davenport, IA on March 1, 1943 and was adopted by Elmer and Leona (Lindquist) Lempke. He grew up in the Vincent area and attended school in Vincent and Eagle Grove. He was a member of South Enes Lutheran Church in Vincent and was currently a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake. He was very involved with the church and also enjoyed being an usher. He lived at One Vision previously Opportunity Village in Clear Lake for many years. He loved working in the shop, putting up the flag, taking care of keys and caring for and playing the hand bells. He also enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk and Wheel of Fortune.

Larry is survived by his step-father Wayne Seehusen; step-siblings Gordon (Linda) Seehusen of Dakota City, IA, Richard (Amanda) Seehusen of Fort Dodge, Karen (Warren) Birhard of Des Moines, IA and Cindy Welch of Atlanta, GA along with many cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Leona and his step-sisters Susan, Kathy and Linda.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the One Vision Foundation previously Opportunity Village in Clear Lake, South Enes Lutheran Church in Vincent or Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake.
