David Ferry, 71, of Fort Dodge, IA, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 31, 2017. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
David Ferry, the son of Collin and Mildred (Butrick) Ferry, was born May 22, 1946 in Lake City, IA. He attended Fort Dodge Schools. On June 28, 1965, David was united in marriage to Julie Kruger and the couple made their home and raised their family in Fort Dodge. David was employed with USG for 36 years retiring in 2001. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, collecting tools and helping people with projects or anything they needed.
Survivors include his wife Julie, his children and their families; son Dave Ferry of Fort Dodge and his children Morgan, Michael, Trevor and Chase; son Danny (Carol) Ferry of North Carolina and their children Daniel, Jonathan, and Rachel; daughter Jackie (Rick) Degelau of Fort Dodge, their children Breanna and Brandon. Also surviving are siblings Patti Tattoli of FL, Francis Ferry of Rockwell City, Jean (Frank) Rosalez of Callendar and Danny (Pam) Ferry of Florida and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Reyburn, Dale, Mitchell, Carol and Rodney.
