Anna “Gerry” Sandven, 91, of Mitchell­ville, Iowa, formerly of Badger, passed away on Sun­day, December 31, 2017, at the Mitch­ell Care Center in Mitchellville.

A service honoring Gerry’s life will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Badger Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Scott Meier officiating. Interment will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Memorials may directed to the discretion of the family.

Geraldine Anna Anderson, daughter of Peter and Evelyn Anderson, was born December 13, 1926, in Waterloo, Iowa. Gerry graduated from Fort Dodge High School and worked at Fort Dodge Labs after graduation. She was united in marriage to Marvin Sandven April 9, 1947, and became a farmer’s wife. They farmed east of Humboldt until moving to a farm near Badger in 1962. Gerry loved to travel, do crafts; garden and card club, and was active in church activities.

Survivors include her children, David Sandven, Des Moines; Carol Christenson, Sacramento, CA; Wayne Sandven, Fort Dodge; Marke Sandven, Mitchellville; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan Messerly, Fort Dodge; Donna Arbuckle, Waterloo; and Barb Brunkhorst, Colfax, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Patricia Schulte, her husband Marvin Sandven and her son Bruce Sandven.
