VIVIAN HODGES
LAKE CITY — Vivian Hodges, 97, died Monday, October 9, 2017 at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 312 N. Hancock, Lake City, Iowa. A private burial will be held in the Lake City Cemetery.
Vivian Maxine (Burley) Hodges was born on March 22, 1920 in Lake City, Iowa to Harry and Leora (Campbell) Burley. After graduating from Lake City High School in 1939, Vivian went on to Western Union School. She worked as a Telegrapher for Western Union in Los Angeles and San Francisco and also Sioux City.
Vivian was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on August 10, 1941 and spent 30 years in full-time ministry. She was a member of the Lake City congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 50 years.
Vivian is survived by several nieces and nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters. Vivian will be greatly missed by the Lake City Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
