ROBERT PAUL MOORE

Robert Paul Moore passed away on April 25, 2017 in Gilbert, AZ. He was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, October 15, 1920. Bob graduated from Ft. Dodge High School in 1939. He served in World War II as a tail gunner on a B-17 Bomber as part of the 15th Army Air Corps. On his first mission in 1944 his plane was shot down over Yugoslavia. He spent five months behind enemy lines evading capture.

Following his wartime experience, he returned to Iowa, and married Eunice Goyette of Spencer, IA. He then began working for the U.S. Postal Service in Fort Dodge. In 1962 he moved his family to Scottsdale, AZ, finally retiring from the Post Office in 1986.

Bob is survived by his wife Eunice (Goyette), and his sons Robert (Lois) of Paoli, WI, Daniel (Jana) of Parker, CO. and Paul (Sandi) of Gilbert, AZ. Also surviving is a brother John A. Moore of Ft. Dodge, IA. In addition Bob is survived by a number of grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Andrew J. Moore and Mabel A (Todd), a brother Thomas of Lakewood, CO, and a son Michael.

A memorial service will be held at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson, Mesa, AZ, Saturday May 13, 2017 at 2:00pm. Burial will be at Corpus Christi Cemetery in Fort Dodge, Iowa at a date yet to be determined.
