Leo was born August 26, 1926 in rural Gilmore City to Henry and Grace (Cirks)Peters. He spent his life farming and raising cattle. Leo was a frequent visitor at the Bohemian Hall and loved the friendships he made. He was very proud of his decades of service as the Lake Township Trustee. He was a dedicated member of the St. John’s Lizard Lutheran Church and loved providing the Christmas wreath each year. Leo would pick up his mail at the end of his land each day and wave to everyone passing by on highway C49. He enjoyed going to Casey’s every day to pick up his lunch (where he was always treated as a king) and then going to Lizard Lake to enjoy the day. He loved tending his stock cows and riding his gator. Leo needed the assistance of an oxygen tank for many years but forgot that he had it, even when running the skid loader, fighting fires, planting trees and tending cattle.
