JACK CERNEY

John “Jack” Cerney, 86, of Fort Dodge, died January 19, 2017 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

A memorial visitation will be

held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

John W. Cerney, the son of Reba (Widick) and John W. Cerney Sr., was born November 7, 1930 in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1949. On October 21, 1950, Jack was united in marriage to Norma Fellows. Jack was manager of Wonder Bread and later owned Amigo Jack’s. He also was employed part time with Dart Bus.

Jack is survived by his wife of 66 years, Norma; his daughter Jacque (Chris) Thoma; his son-in-law Bob Meyer; his grandchildren Heather (Ryan) Turner, Tara Erickson, Bobbi Jean (Al) Martin, Carlie Dickerson, and Maddie Dickerson; 11 great grandchildren and sister-in-law Cathy. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronnie, his son John W. Cerney III, his daughters Brenda Dickerson and Linda Meyer and grandson Shyler Thoma.
