ROGER DUANE ROSEDAHL

Roger Rosedahl, 6/12/1947-12/7/2015, grew up on a farm near Axtell, KS. After graduating in 1965, Roger moved to Topeka, KS and started working for Santa Fe Railroad. In 1966 he enlisted in the United States Army to fight in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Rangers Special Forces and served in Vietnam from 1967-1968 where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart as a combat veteran.

When he returned home he started his music career. He became a Nashville recording artist and released “Honky Tonk Crazy” in 1982. That same year he was nominated for Kansas Entertainer of the year by Senator Robert Dole and won entertainer of the year in Colorado. Four of his songs made the top 100 on the Country Billboard. Roger opened the county fair in Caldwell, KS in 2004.

He is survived by his son Rodd Allen Rosedahl, sister Margie Eklund and grandson Calin Andrew Rosedahl.
