FRANCES E. IVERSON

LAKE MILLS – Frances E. Iverson, 95, of Lake Mills, IA, formerly of Ft. Dodge, IA, died Wednesday, January 02, 2013 at Lyngblomsten Care Center in St. Paul, MN.

Funeral service will be 1:30 PM Sunday (1/6) at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, IA, with Pastor David E. Jordon officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.

Burial will take place at Otis Grove Cemetery in rural Dows, IA.

Frances Eleanor (Iseminger) Iverson was born on June 5, 1917, in Ogilvie, Minnesota, to Doris (Adams) and Ora Iseminger. She graduated from Dows High School in 1935. Following her graduation, she attended summer school to acquire her teaching diploma at the University of Northern Iowa. She enjoyed teaching country school and taught from 1935 until 1942 around the Dows area. Frances was engaged to Eldon Bertelson until he was killed in Italy in WWII. She then accepted a bookkeeping position at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa, working there until 1946. That same year she married Andrew Curtis Iverson from Dows, Iowa. Andy passed away on July 14, 2012.

Frances’ greatest joys were family and friends, flowers and her sewing. She worked as a professional seamstress at Pat’s Lace and Stitch in Fort Dodge, Iowa, covering lamp shades and making window coverings. She had a very profound faith in God that guided her daily. She lovingly raised her own children, and cared for a number of foster children. She was active in her church, Bible studies, and Prison Ministry. She enjoyed her kitty, Tico.

Frances is survived by her three children: John (Annette) Iverson of Clearwater, FL, Reade Adams (John Schroder) of St. Paul, MN, Paul (Judy) Iverson of Lake City, IA; six grandchildren, Ellen Lodin, Lake Mills, IA, Jesse (Sarah) Mullan, San Francisco, CA, Joshua (Jill) Iverson, Sioux Falls, SD, Seth (Elizabeth) Iverson, Minneapolis, MN, Micah (Carrie) Iverson, Minneapolis, MN, Leah (Jeff) Snyder, Mt.Carmel, IA, and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving is Masumi (Mike) Hogan, Fullerton, CA, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Andy, her parents, her sisters Carolyn Brandt and Jean Bertelson.
