Two hurt in motorcycle crash near Stratford

STRATFORD — Two people were taken to a hospital in Boone after a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon in Webster County near Stratford.

Webster County Sheriff’s Deputy Trevir Michehl said the motorcycle’s driver, Robert McCreery, 41, of Boone, over-estimated a curve on 340th Street on the approach to Xavier Avenue. The motorcycle left the roadway and went into the ditch, he said.

The accident happened at about 5:15 p.m.

McCreery and a passenger, Lauren Weers, 19, of Boone, were hurt in the crash. The pair were transported to Boone County Hospital with what Michehl described as non-life-threatening injuries.

They were transported by Dayton and Stratford ambulances.

In addition to the Webster County Sheriff’s Department, Dayton Police and Dayton and Stratford first responders were on scene.
