Letter on behalf of FDEA submitted

Branwyn Greathouse, chief negotiator for the Fort Dodge Education Association, submitted a letter to the Fort Dodge Community School District board Monday night with the intent to bargain.

No other information was presented.

The Fort Dodge Community School District board approved agreements with the Teacher Association Bargaining Unit, which includes paraeducators and the Fort Dodge Education Bargaining Unit, the Maintenance Employees Bargaining Unit, the Secretarial/Clerical Education Association, and the Maintenance Employees Bargaining Unit in the spring of 2017.

Those agreements were for the 2017-18 year.

The agreements were reached following the passage of House File 291. Under that law, public employee unions are only allowed to negotiate base wages.
