Budget, credit union building on council agenda
The proposed 2018-2019 budget and a new home for People’s Credit Union will be on the agenda for the Fort Dodge City Council on Monday.
The council will meet at 5 p.m. in the Municipal Building for a budget workshop. The proposed budgets for planning, building inspections, sanitation, the city’s central garage and the storm water utility will be reviewed.
At 6 p.m. the council’s regular business meeting will convene.
During that session, the council will consider selling city-owned property at Fifth Avenue South and 17th Street to the credit union for $67,000. Early this year, credit union officials announced plans to build a new office there to replace the current one downtown.
The council will also consider an agreement with People’s Credit Union that would use tax increment financing money to reimburse it for the cost of demolishing a former convenience store on the property next to the land to be bought from the city.
