2,000 in FD lose power for 2 hours
Equipment hitting an overhead line caused a power outage for more than 2,000 people in Fort Dodge Wednesday afternoon, according to MidAmerican Energy spokesperson Adam Jacobi.
The outage started around 2:30 p.m., and 859 customers’ power had been restored by 3:46 p.m., Jacobi said. The rest of the customers were restored by 4:07 p.m.
A total of 2,247 had been affected, generally on the eastern side of Fort Dodge.
A third party had contacted the line with some equipment, Jacobi said.
He didn’t know where it had happened.
