Volunteers needed for FDSH robotics

Volunteers are needed to help judge and perform other administrative duties during the First Tech Challenge Robotics League Championship at Fort Dodge Senior High.

The championship will be held Saturday.

Twenty-four teams from central and eastern Iowa will be judged by a series of panels who will present a variety of awards based on the team’s performance and outreach activities.

Eight of the teams will advance to the State Championships of Iowa.

Volunteers are needed from 7:15 a.m. to about 4 p.m. They will receive a free T-shirt and lunch.

“The championship offers a great opportunity to see STEM at its finest,” said Ed Birkey, FDSH robotics instructor. “The students put a lot of time into programming their robots for these competitions. It’s a lot of fun to see all their hard work in action.”

FDSH will have two teams competing Saturday.
