13 Days of Halloween

-Messenger photo by Hans Madsen
The Messenger 13 Days of Halloween concludes this year with a creepy still life containing a variety of oddities and strange things collected over the years by Hans Madsen. The centerpiece of the very still life is a baby Sasquatch created by Pomeroy artist Roger Feldhans from modeling clay and real human hair. There’s a bit of humor in the humerus which was acquired from Obscura Antiques & Oddities in New York City, the person receiving it as a gift replied, “That better be legal and you better have the receipt.” Yes, and yes and yes, it’s real. The arrangement also includes a variety of rotting old doll heads from a garage sale where they were free, a plastic bird skeleton from a local retailer, dried roses and a found animal skull. The arrangement was photographed with an Omega 4 by 5 view camera on film. Image scanned from a print.
Happy Halloween
