Two assaulted during early-morning break-in

A woman and her grandson were assaulted during an early morning burglary in Fort Dodge Friday.

Both suffered from minor injuries, according to Fort Dodge Police Capt. Ryan Gruenberg.

The incident in the 1700 block of Fifth Avenue North was reported at 2:42 a.m.

The suspect is believed to be a teenaged black male between 14 and 16 years old. He was wearing dark jeans and a tan hooded sweatshirt.

Gruenberg further stated it’s believed the suspect may live in the immediate area and may possibly have prior knowledge of either the home or the surrounding area.
