Stanhope man killed in motorcycle crash
STRATFORD — A Stanhope man was killed in a motorcycle accident early Sunday morning.
Monte Dilliner, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene after he lost control of his 2002 Kawasaki motorcycle around 12:16 a.m. on U.S. Highway 175, about two miles west of Stratford, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The state patrol said Dilliner was traveling east when his motorcycle dropped off onto the right-hand shoulder and he lost control. The bike rolled over and the driver was thrown from the vehicle. Both came to rest on the north shoulder and ditch of Highway 175.
Stratford and Dayton EMS also responded to the scene.
