One hurt in collision east of Fort Dodge

One driver was seriously hurt after his pickup crashed into an oncoming semi truck east of Fort Dodge Wednesday morning, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

The man was coming west, while the Peterbilt was driving east, said State Patrol Lt. Mark Miller, when the pickup crossed over the center line and hit the side of the larger vehicle.

The driver of the Peterbilt was not hurt. The pickup’s driver was taken to UnityPoint Health–Trinity Regional Medical Center, and then airlifted to Mason City.

His name is not being released at this time.
