Kayla Jones Scholarship Ride is today

Event benefits students from FDSH and St. Edmond

The annual Kayla Jones Memorial Scholarship Ride will be held today at Lefti’s Bar & Grill, 2001 Second Ave. N.

The ride has been going on for the past nine years.

It is held in the memory of Kayla Jones, who died in a motor vehicle accident on Dec. 26, 2007. She was 15 years old.

According to information provided by the memorial ride, “Kayla was a cheerleader at FDSH (Fort Dodge Senior High), she had a passion for dance and was also active in the youth group at St. Paul Lutheran Church.”

“Kayla was loved by all who knew her. She had a big heart and was a friend to everyone. Her amazing personality and beautiful smile will always be remembered.”

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m. Motorcycles and other vehicles will leave at 11 a.m. and return at 5:30 p.m.

A freewill donation pork loin dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m.

Additionally, there will be a live and silent auction as well as door prizes.

The cost is $15 per biker and $10 for rider.

Funds will be used for college scholarships for students at Fort Dodge Senior High and St. Edmond Catholic High School.
