Callender man hurt in Fort Dodge crash

Fort Dodge firefighters and paramedics tend to the victim of a two-car crash Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Sixth Avenue North and North 13th Street. According to Fort Dodge Police Lt. Joe Bates, Stuart was traveling east on Sixth Avenue when he struck a 2017 Nissan Sentra being driven by Dolly Rosales, 87, of Cape Canaveral, Florida. Bates said Rosales was southbound on 13th Street and was attempting to turn west when the accident happened. Sixth Avenue North is an eastbound one-way. Bates said that according the accident report, Rosales may have failed to yield at the stop sign before turning. Stuart was transported to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in Stuart’s vehicle was not injured. Fort Dodge Police and Fort Dodge Fire responded to the accident.
