Ludwig joins Iowa Central as director of development

Former administrator will also head alumni relations

A former Lake City hospital administrator has joined Iowa Central Community College in the development and alumni relations department.

Mary Ludwig is the college’s new executive director of development and alumni relations.

Ludwig, who most recently served as the director of development, marketing and volunteers at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital, fills the role formerly held by Laurie Hendricks, who retired on June 30.

Dr. Dan Kinney, Iowa Central president, praised Ludwig in her new role.

“We are excited to have Mary join the Iowa Central family,” he said, “and her wealth of experience will surely benefit the college as it continues its fundraising efforts.”

Tim Burns, president of the Iowa Central Foundation, said board members are looking forward to working with Ludwig.

“Mary brings a strong fundraising background to Iowa Central and we are fortunate and very pleased that she is joining the Iowa Central team.”

Ludwig worked at Stewart Memorial since 2008, and prior to that was the director of development for Faith, Hope and Charity in Storm Lake from May 2002 to August 2008. According to a statement from Iowa Central, she is active in her community.

“In her 16 years of professional fundraising, Ludwig has accomplished raising private funds for building projects, patient equipment, and programs,” the statement said. “In addition to capital campaigns, she has led efforts to create and build annual fund strategies, the SMCH Foundation, and fundraising events.”

Ludwig, according to a press release from the college, is an accomplished grant writer as well as being skilled in marketing and public speaking.
