HARCOURT — A man was killed early Saturday morning when his motorcycle slammed into a deer on U.S. Highway 169.

The Webster County Sheriff’s Department has not released the man’s name, pending the notification of his family.

The crash happened shortly after 3 a.m. near 340th Street, according to the Sheriff’s Department. That’s about two miles north of Harcourt.

The motorcycle was southbound on the highway when it struck a deer in the road, the Sheriff’s Department reported. The man was pronounced dead on the scene. No other vehicles or people were involved.
