-Messenger photo by Peter Kaspari
A black car that struck a train sits in the foreground as the train it hit is stopped at the intersection of Yankee Avenue and 220th Street in Hamilton County. According to Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy Gary Johnson, the car, driven by Dan Hagen, of St. Olaf, was northbound on 220th Street. Hagen didn’t see the train, according to Johnson, and hit the train. Nobody was injured in the accident. The Webster County Sheriff’s Department and a crew from Canadian National Railway also responded to the scene.
